Hip-Hop Artist Twoside Releases Two-Song Single “Gotham Funk”

Twoside is an Alt Hip-Hop artist and producer from Berlin, Ohio. Being from a “small town” area, he was distanced from thriving art/music scenes. Staying true to his Midwest-Emo roots, "Gotham Funk" gives the listener a melancholy twist of upbeat hip-hop and somber lyrics. Twoside deceptively makes the listener groove while speaking openly about the highs and lows of mental health.
Twoside kicks off this two-headed monster with "Dilly Wonka (featuring Master Puff)". The song begins with a whimsical assortment of flutes building into Master Puff's impressive verse. Twoside does an incredible job of manipulating vocal layers, mixing and mastering, and overall execution. We can't say we're surprised, though. He is a college-educated audio engineer and producer.
The second song on the single is the namesake of the project, "Gotham Funk". The beat is infectious and the lyrics touch on a wide range of emotions. With many hero and villain references, the song touches on morals, ethics, and the effects these standards have on mental health. That may seem a bit dark, but it is all tied in with a groovy beat and cadences to match.
